Job Description
The Marketing and Partnerships Manager will cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with corporate, government, and development stakeholders to advance digital accessibility and inclusion across Africa. Through strong coordination, stakeholder engagement, and marketing alignment, the role ensures that every event and collaboration contributes meaningfully to the program’s mission and long-term sustainability. The manager also oversees the successful planning and execution of roundtables, workshops, the annual Inclusive Africa Conference, and other convenings focused on digital accessibility.

Program Background.
inABLE is scaling Africa’s inclusive digital economy by preparing youth with disabilities for quality employment and catalyzing systems change. Through the Inclusive Africa Program (IAP), we build both talent and demand by training Digital Accessibility Champions, mobilizing advocates and youth leaders, accelerating assistive technology (AT) entrepreneurs, and advancing digital accessibility standards through the Inclusive Africa Conference
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, International Development, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years’ progressive experience in partnerships, fundraising, B2B business development, or corporate affairs—ideally in tech, development, events, or CSR.
- Demonstrated track record closing multi‑year deals and managing complex accounts with contractual deliverables and compliance requirements.
- Strong networks across private sector and development partners in Africa. Experience working with foundations and multilaterals is an advantage.
- Experience with large‑scale convenings/expos and executive‑level stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with digital accessibility standards, accessible events, and disability‑inclusive practices.
- Fluency with CRM tools (Salesforce/HubSpot), pipeline management, forecasting, and basic financial modeling for sponsorship packages.
- Excellent proposal writing, negotiation, presentation, and relationship‑building skills; ability to influence senior decision‑makers.
Responsibilities
- 1. Strategy & Planning
- Design and implement a 3-year Events and Partnerships Strategy with annual targets for sponsorship revenue, in-kind support, and audience reach.
- Develop segmented value propositions (Title, Track, Session, Expo, Media, Accessibility) aligned with IAP outcomes.
- Forecast partnership pipelines, track KPIs, and integrate marketing and communications objectives into the annual events calendar.
- 2. Partnerships Development & Management
- Source, pitch, and secure multi-year sponsorships and partnerships with corporates, foundations, and development partners across Africa.
- Negotiate agreements covering financial and in-kind contributions, brand use, IP, and recognition levels.
- Maintain and expand sectoral coverage (tech, telco/FinTech, banking, aviation, manufacturing, media).
- Manage relationships with existing partners, ensuring fulfillment of benefits such as branding, speaking opportunities, content co-creation, and innovation showcases.
- Strengthen relationships with donor agencies and align initiatives with funding priorities.
- 3. Event Management
- Oversee the planning and execution of all IAP convenings, including the Inclusive Africa Conference, workshops, and roundtables — across in-person, hybrid, and virtual formats.
- Manage logistics: venue selection, accessibility compliance (sign language, captioning) speaker coordination, and vendor management.
- Lead the Events team, ensuring effective coordination and on-time delivery.
- Develop and manage event budgets, monitor expenditures, and prepare post-event reports and evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to amplify event visibility through media engagement, advocacy materials, and storytelling.
- 4. Marketing and Advocacy
- Collaborate with Communications to design marketing materials, digital campaigns, and advocacy reports that highlight partner contributions and promote IAP outcomes.
- Ensure all event and partner communications meet accessibility standards and brand guidelines.
- Represent inABLE and IAP at key industry events and regional forums to enhance visibility and influence.
- Engage with standards bodies, regulators, and private sector actors to advance adoption of digital accessibility frameworks across Africa.
- 5. Governance, Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records for leads, proposals, agreements, and partner benefit tracking.
- Monitor compliance risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Prepare reports on event performance, partnership pipeline, and revenue outcomes.
- Produce post-event reports capturing benefits delivered, audience reach, and partnership outcomes.
